We leave tomorrow!
Tomorrow afternoon Jennifer and I head out on a 10-day trip to serve with Joe and Molly Bail in Nakuru, Kenya. I can’t tell you how excited we are!
We can’t wait to see what life is really like in Nakuru! We can’t wait to get to know the people who are helping Joe and Molly in the ministry of Springs of Hope! We can’t wait to meet the children they are helping! We can’t wait to see what God does with us and through us on the trip!
Before we go, I want to share one more thing God has impressed on me this week…
Before I get to that, though, we are just so grateful for so many things.
Thanks to all of you who have given things for us to take and give to the children of Nakuru. Our hope was fill 2 suitcases with shoes, books, crafts, and more. Thanks to your generosity, we have at least enough to fill 3 suitcases. We’re going to try to squeeze all our personal belongings into 1 suitcase and our carry-ons so we can make that happen.
Thanks also to all of you who have given money to helped to support the trip finanically.
Last and perhaps most of all, we want to thank our families who are taking care of our children while we’re gone. This trip would be completely impossible if not for them. So, thank you Mark and Sonja, Robert and Darbi, and Mom and Dad T. You guys are phenomenal!
Take Nothing for Granted
A lot of you have told us you are and will be praying for us while we’re on trip. Thank you! No, really, I mean it – THANK YOU!
Saying we’re going to pray for someone can become somewhat cliché. I have to admit there have been times when I said I’d pray for someone and then didn’t. Or I said “I’ll pray for you” because I wasn’t sure what else to say.
One of the things that God has been showing me is that we just can’t expect everything to go according to plan. For the most part I usually expect airplanes will be on schedule, cars will work, customs will go smoothly, people will behave kindly, and so forth. But that doesn’t always happen. This week Molly got stuck in New York for 2 days on her trip back to Kenya. From what I’ve seen on Facebook, Joe has malaria again. Ugh!
There are a million things that could go wrong.
My attitude is there will be major problems unless God intervenes. That’s not pessimism. I just know who we’re up against.
So, please pray earnestly for us each day. Not so much for our safety or our plans, but that God would give us opportunities to show His love to others. Pray that we would be a blessing to Joe and Molly, the workers we meet, the children we minister too, and all the people we meet along the way.
I’m going to do my best to blog and post pictures each day of the trip here.

Kenya 2009 –> Day 1: We Made It!
Please tell Joe that we will pray for a quick recovery and that he doesn’t have an attack again. I will keep you in my prayers that God will use you and Jen in a wonderful way and that His ligt will shine. Take care and God Bless.
Greetings, I have seen this on the side notes of OCC, porayed for you and kept you held up to the Father, but haven’t had a chance to take a look see. I am reading them all today to catch up. You sure are having many personal experiences that I know will be a blessing to you and for others, for many yeasr to come. Oh the joys of getting through and the experiences of seeing the hand of God in our lives. Stronger and more solid you will be by the end of it all. Our prayers and Blessings
