Move Forward

move forwardContinuing on yesterday’s topic, Things You Don’t Have Time NOT to Do: 2) Take Responsibility

You’re broke. You’re fat. You’re marriage is a mess. You’re kids are headed down the wrong path. You hate your job. Or you have no job. You’re lonely. You’re lost. Your life stinks.

Why?

It’s one or a combination of these 3 reasons:

  • It’s your fault.
  • It’s someone else’s fault.
  • It’s no one’s fault.

If your situation is partially or wholly your fault, learn from your mistakes and move forward. If your situation is partially or wholly someone else’s fault, forgive and move forward. If your situation seems like bad luck – health problems, natural disaster, etc – accept it and move forward.

Are you hearing a theme?

That’s because it doesn’t matter how we got where we are. The best response is the same… move forward.

Usually, when we spend a lot of time explaining how we got where we are, what we’re really doing is justifying staying where we are.

It doesn’t matter how you got here. That’s in the past.

Even if you’re not responsible for where you are, you are responsible for where you go next.

Are you going to keep explaining how you got here? Or are you going to move forward?

  1. Great post! Even when you think you are down, keep moving forward. Listen to your coaches and others around you; they will support you as you move forward.

I had a similar post which was based on the Oregon-Auburn. Just when you thought he was down, he really wasn’t. He kept moving forward and helped win in the game in the end.

Keep moving forward. Great advice. Great post!

  2. Wow! “Change” and “move forward” keep popping up in front of me the past few weeks! Thank you for yet another confirmation to move forward!

    Have a great day, Paul!
