Only 5 days until Jennifer and I leave for our Kenya trip. I just wanted to thank everyone who has given things for us to take to children of Nakuru. Here are a couple of pics.
The first is Korin and Isabel Deitch who got a bunch of black dress shoes from Goodwill (I think) and shined them up nice a good. Molly told us that schools provide a uniform, but the kids are required to have their own black shoes to be able to go to school. It’s hard to believe that some kids might not be able to go to school just because they don’t have black shoes, but at least a dozen kids will have them now.
Saturday the Andrews family dropped off books, crayons, coloring books, flip-flops and probably other stuff I can’t remember off hand.
Thanks to everyone else who dropped things off Sunday at Cypress and for those who donated money to help with the cost of taking extra bags on our flight. If you’d still like to donate items, there’s always a need for more shoes and books. You can bring them by our house or by Cypress Meadows Community Church.
Jen and I are going to try to jam all of our stuff in our carry-on bags and perhaps one other suitcase so we can take a 3rd and possibly 4th suitcase with things for the kids of Springs of Hope.
