I was reading in the St. Pete Times yesterday… Something else jumped out at me from the article is that Andrew’s sister made public his list of “100 things to do before I die.” He only has 15 things on the list so far, but I thought it was an interesting list. Today I have the privilege of leading day 6 of the Tribes group blogging project (pages 26-30). Leading from the bottom… Badgering and Begging… Calling People to a Movement… Vision Leaks… Stories Fuel the Cycle of Success… Food for thought I don’t know if this video is true or not, but it’s hilarious. In addition to being funny, there’s an important marketing principle in there. They often have to walk for miles barefoot [...] “Leadership is Not Management.” This quote from Tribes and the discussion of it sparked some thoughts on the differences between leadership and management and the impact of those differences. Historically speaking, being labeled a heretic has not been a good thing. It’s often been followed by uncomfortable experiences like being stoned or burned at the stake. So when Seth Godin writes in Tribes that “Heretics are the new leaders… they are the keys to our success” that’s a pretty dramatic turnaround. John Saddington of Church Crunch has organized a “group blog project” for the book Tribes by Seth Godin.
