Chuck ColsonChuck Colson is the chairman and founder of Prison Fellowship Ministries, the world’s largest outreach to prisoners, ex-prisoners, crime victims, and their families. He has written more than 20 books including Born Again and his latest release, The Faith: What Christians Believe, Why They Believe It, and Why It Matters. In addition, Colson is the founder and chairman of the Wilberforce Forum, the Christian worldview teaching and advocacy arm of Prison Fellowship, and producer of his daily radio broadcast, “BreakPoint,” heard through more than 1,000 outlets.

 

  • We have transfered our alegence from truth to tolerance.
  • The first thing a leutenant learns is to survey the field and then serve your troops.  You train and equip them because they’re going into battle.  You give them a vision and give them a calling greater than themselves.  Then “Follow Me.”
  • If you’re a leader, your job is not to pander but to lead.
  • Stop blaming the culture.  Culture is nothing but religion incarnate.  The culture is sick because our faith is sick.
  • Judgement comes to God’s people first.
  • Here in this country we are in Babalonian captivity - captive to the culture.
  • The reformation changed the church and changed western civilization.
  • Jude - “Contend for the faith.”
  • What is Christianity?
  • Christianity is a worldview, a way of seeing all life through God.
  • Essential claims of Christianity
    • God is (God exists)
    • He has spoken (The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God)
    • The fall (What’s wrong with the world today?  I am)
    • Jesus was God in human flesh (Conversion is when you turn in your old self for new life in Christ)
    • God is triune - Father, Son, and Spirit (Muslims are winning over people by claiming Christians believe in 3 gods.  Only in Christianity is God the great creator and personal enough to live within us)
    • We are reconciled to one another. 
    • We are holy (We live righteous lives that reveal God)
    • Christianity is invitational.
