I thought it was great that Carly was able to open up with how she felt about situations and moved forward anyways. I think most leaders do not feel they can let anyone know that they feel afraid more often than not. Not all leaders, but probably most leaders. Just knowing that "most of us, are like the rest of us" in this area, help to have the courage to move forward.
I think in an odd way fear can be a strength in a leader. Because a leader is fearful, they can be driven to gain others opinions on the subject and collaborate more easily than the hard driving leader who always knows best (and thereby has little to learn from others).

Carly Fiorina is obviously an amazing woman...who is just like the rest of us. She deals with fears, she lacked confidence, she started out at the bottom of the ladder, she is human.

The turning point for her was 2 colleagues who told her, "We something in you. . ."

The first person that comes to mind for me who did this in my life was my great grandmother, who invested her time in me. She told me over and over that God has plans for me. Later is was my boyfriend (now my husband). And I believe God spoke to me early on because my life verse since middle school has been Phil 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

What was your turning point? I'll bet is was something similar. Someone recognized in you an ability to lead, a calling of God, a drive to accomplish the goal. Someone saw something is you.

My challenge is to now go out and share that gift with those who God places in my path.
My family, my students at school, my children's ministry team and the children in the ministry. The parents and adults around those children.

What did God want you to understand or act on after hearing Carly?
